Sunny Casais celebrates yet another recognition for industrialized and sustainable construction! The First Guimarães, developed by Sunny Casais and built by Grupo Casais, was honored in the 2024 edition of the Expresso Imobiliário Awards, winning in the Sustainable Construction/Architecture category.
A Milestone in Sustainability and Innovation
The First Guimarães is the first industrialized hybrid construction building in the Iberian Peninsula, combining timber and concrete to create a more efficient and eco-friendly building model. Thanks to the use of modular and reusable elements, it is possible to reduce the carbon footprint by 59%, while optimizing material consumption — including a 33% reduction in concrete and a 41% reduction in steel.
More than just a technological advancement, this project is aligned with the principles of the circular economy, allowing its components to be reused in the future and contributing to a more sustainable and efficient construction sector.

The positive impact of The First Guimarães goes beyond environmental efficiency. During the construction process, industrialized technology enabled a reduction of over 70% in noise levels, benefiting the surrounding community and reinforcing Sunny Casais’ commitment to urban well-being.
