The First Guimarães: A Milestone in Sustainable Construction
The First Guimarães, located in the Minho Innovation and Technology Hub (MITH), was recognized as Best Private Project. It is the first industrialized hybrid construction building in the Iberian Peninsula, using an innovative timber and concrete structure that reduces the carbon footprint by 59%. In addition, it stands out for its optimized use of materials, reducing concrete by 33% and steel by 41%, promoting circular economy principles and a more sustainable approach to construction.
Corporate First Gaia: Efficiency and Versatility in the Business Sector
Corporate First Gaia was awarded Best Office Building, standing out as a multifunctional and innovative business space. The building includes a hotel unit (B&B Porto Gaia) and several office spaces, offering energy-efficient, comfortable, and flexible solutions. The use of modular and reusable systems enhances the project’s sustainability, ensuring a lower environmental impact throughout its life cycle.
